Default [RENAMED] Losing good upgrades with Expert Salvage

Perfect Sundering Falchion of Shelter- what do I salvage? Iron Ingots.
Perfect Vampiric Long Sword- what do I salvage? Iron Ingots.

I don't understand how unlucky I can be.. anyone else ever have this problem?

And yes I was using an Expert Salvage Kit.

Yes I think we've all done this countless times.. there is one thing i'm curious about though. This seems to happen to me over and over again, lets say I find a firey cleaver of perfect enchanting. I have abosulutly no use for the firey haft but I could put that enchanting mod to good use. The things is thou when I expert salvage something If an item has a prefix mod on it I always no matter what unlock that instead of the suffix mod. Is this just the way it works or is my luck that bad?

Yes I did identify it first (I once did that though, expert salvaged an unidentified and got a fiery haft). And countless times that has happened to me, perfect enchant.. get the other mod.. perfect hale.. get the other mod. I can't even get 1 mod this time. So damn frustrating just lost atleast 100k in two runs -_-

You didn't "lose" anything, you didn't *gain* that, that's *huge* difference and I suggest you learn it. I might sometimes when I lose good item from salvaging, but I'm not about to make whole thread about it.

Hmmm.
I advertised to sell very expensive wood planks at the expense of my perfect bow grip of fortitude at LA.
No bites though

That's really unlucky OP.

I seem to be at the opposite end of the scale. I have found two 5:1 vampiric bows during the last five months and on both occasions i salvaged the string!

I am so reluctant to salvage the really good mods now that I have the tendancy to leave the weap intact and sell "as is".....let the buyer have the honors .

I got that too lately. Seems salvaging runes from your outfit is no assumption anymore. Odd, they used to get off always.

I got a bow with +29 health mod on it and even thought the bow is decent (15-26 (req 9) +14% in stance and lengthen poison duration with the +29 health on it, i didn't want to salvage it cuz from past experience. The salvage kit always give me something else that i didn't want.

A weapon mod trader would be fine as well.

I've always hated the component/salvage system when it comes to PvE. I'm not sure that preventing so many good mods get trashed by salvaging would improve the game on a whole, but God knows it would suit me just fine.

Though, failing making components being easier to get, I'd love it if they did more things like Green weapons or Collectors/Crafters who offer weapons with perfect components. They can make the dang font pink for all I care, I spend little time gawking at the text color of my gear in preference to using it. :P
